Latest company case about What is a Pre-Filter?
Pre-filter Overview

A pre-filter is the first line of defense in an air purification system, primarily designed to remove large airborne particles such as dust, hair, pollen, and insects. Typically installed at the intake of air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), fresh air systems, or other ventilation equipment, pre-filters protect downstream medium and high-efficiency filters from damage caused by large particles, thereby extending their service life and reducing maintenance costs.

Key characteristics of pre-filters:
  • Lower particle filtration efficiency but high dust-holding capacity
  • Low airflow resistance to maintain stable system airflow
  • Washable or replaceable, economical and durable
Metal Mesh Pre-Filter

The Metal Mesh Pre-Filter is a premium type of pre-filter made of aluminum or stainless steel mesh, designed to be washable and reusable. It is specially used as the primary filtration stage in air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), fresh air systems, and other HVAC equipment. Serving as the first protective barrier in the air purification system, it effectively captures large particles over 5 μm, such as dust, hair, pollen, and insects, significantly extending the life of downstream medium and high-efficiency filters while reducing overall system maintenance costs.

Key Features:
Filter Media:
Multi-layer, interwoven aluminum or stainless steel mesh with a corrugated design, providing high dust-holding capacity and low air resistance
Frame:
Aluminum alloy or galvanized steel frame ensures stable installation and tight sealing
Protection:
Double-sided metal protective mesh, spot-welded for reinforcement, prevents airflow damage to the filter media
Applications:
  • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
  • Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
  • Fresh Air Systems
  • Industrial and commercial HVAC systems
